What is Profhilo®?
Profhilo® is made of highly purified hyaluronic acid, the same compound that is used in many other dermal fillers. However, unlike traditional fillers, it is not designed to increase volume, but to counteract the physiological reduction of hyaluronic acid in the skin. This restores hydration, elasticity and skin tone.
What does the procedure involve?
The product is injected into a series of precise bio-aesthetic points. After injection it spreads through the tissues to rejuvenate a wide area. It is mostly used on the face and neck but can be used in other areas such as the inner arm or hands. There is virtually no down-time with this procedure, which generally consists of two treatments a month apart.
When do results become visible?
The full effects are usually seen one month after the second treatment. Further injections to maintain the effect can be used every six months if required. This new treatment is one of the most effective ways to reduce skin laxity.
